Your calorie app doesn't understand your food.

You've tried tracking calories before. You opened MyFitnessPal, searched "nasi lemak bungkus" — and got coconut rice from a Western recipe blog. 150 calories. You know that's wrong.

Local apps? They have 1,100 foods. That's not enough for a week of eating.

You're not the problem. Your app is.

The Problem

MyFitnessPal has 20 million foods — but thinks roti canai is 150 calories. User-submitted data from the US and UK doesn't work for Malaysian food.

The Macron Solution

We built a database of 30,000+ Southeast Asian foods with verified calorie data. Mamak roti canai ≠ homemade roti canai. We know the difference.

3 ways to track. All accurate.

1. Scan any food label

Point your camera at any Malaysian food label. We read it instantly.

2. Snap a photo

Our AI recognizes local dishes — mamak roti canai, economy rice, kuih lapis — and logs the real calories.

3. Get your macros

Calories, protein, carbs, fats — all based on actual Malaysian food data, not Western estimates.

We built the database nobody else bothered to build.

MyFitnessPal has 20 million foods. But it thinks roti canai is 150 calories. (It's 300.)

We spent months building a database of 30,000+ Southeast Asian foods — mamak dishes, hawker favorites, homemade recipes, kuih, drinks, everything. With actual calorie data.

Macron AI is in beta. We're a solo developer building this because no one else would. The database is big and growing. The AI gets better every week. Some things aren't perfect yet — and we'll tell you that upfront.

What we promise: the most accurate Malaysian food data you'll find in any app, period.

Tested by locals.

"Finally I can track my mamak trips without guessing. Nasi lemak, roti canai, teh tarik — semua ada."

Beta tester, KL

"I tried MyFitnessPal for 2 months. Half my meals weren't in there. Switched to Macron AI and everything I eat is actually in the database."

Beta tester, Penang

"The AI photo scan is surprisingly good with local food. Scanned my economy rice and it broke down each lauk."

Got questions?

Is this better than MyFitnessPal?

For Malaysian food? Yes. MFP has 20 million foods but can't tell you the real calories in nasi lemak bungkus. We have 30,000+ local foods with accurate data. For Western food, MFP is still solid. For our food, we're better.

How does the AI food scanner work?

Take a photo of your meal. Our AI identifies the dish and matches it with real nutrition data from our Malaysian food database. It works best with common local dishes.

Is the app free?

During beta, yes — completely free. We'll introduce pricing later, but beta testers get 2 months free access.

What foods are in your database?

30,000+ Southeast Asian foods — Malaysian, Indonesian, Thai, Filipino, Vietnamese. Everything from hawker stalls to mamak to homemade cooking. Nasi lemak, char kuey teow, roti canai, kuih, cendol, and thousands more.

Is the calorie data accurate?

We take accuracy seriously. Our data comes from verified sources, not user-submitted guesses. But we're still growing — if something is off, tell us and we fix it fast.
